Laboratory tests are a vital resource for helping doctors diagnose and track medical conditions. The FCHS Laboratory uses the latest technology aimed at reducing patient discomfort while ensuring accurate and reliable results.

ASK YOUR DOCTOR: Food and beverages can affect some laboratory tests. Often, the most accurate comparison of certain test results is made when the patient is fasting. For some tests, the patient must fast for eight to 12 hours.

Consult your physician when receiving laboratory orders to confirm if you need to fast and whether any medications might interfere with the test results.
