Recognizing the dedication behind healthcare in our communities

JACKSBORO, Texas (August 31, 2026) — Labor Day is often associated with the close of summer, but for Faith Community Health System (FCHS), the holiday is also an opportunity to recognize the people whose work makes healthcare possible every day.

At Faith Community Health System, caring for patients is a shared effort that reaches far beyond the exam room. From the hospital and clinics to EMS, ancillary services and support departments, each member of the team contributes to keeping dependable healthcare available throughout the communities Faith serves.

“Behind every service we provide are people who have chosen to make caring for others their work,” Frank L. Beaman, CEO, said. “Labor Day is an appropriate time to recognize their professionalism, their commitment to our patients and the important role they play in the communities we serve.”

That recognition includes nurses, medical providers, emergency personnel, laboratory and imaging professionals, therapists, support staff, food service workers, maintenance and housekeeping teams, business office employees and many others. It also extends to board members, volunteers and community partners who contribute their time and support.

Beaman said the strength of a rural health system is not found in any one department or service, but in the way people work together.

“Every patient experience involves more people than most of us ever see,” Beaman said. “There are people preparing rooms, processing information, maintaining equipment, answering phones, coordinating care and responding to emergencies. Labor Day is a good time to recognize the value of all of that work.”

For many members of the Faith Community Health System team, the holiday weekend will still include caring for patients and responding when help is needed. Hospital and emergency services continue regardless of the calendar, and essential personnel remain ready to serve.

The holiday also recognizes the broader workforce throughout the communities FCHS serves. Teachers, public safety personnel, farmers and ranchers, small-business owners, utility crews and others contribute every day to the strength and character of rural Texas.

As families gather for the holiday weekend, Faith Community Health System encourages everyone to make safety part of their plans. Drivers should avoid distractions, allow extra travel time and never drive after drinking alcohol. Those spending time outdoors should stay hydrated, use sun protection and watch children closely around swimming pools, grills and other holiday activities.

As part of the Labor Day observance, The FCHS clinics, business office and ancillary services will be closed Monday, September 7, giving many team members an opportunity to spend the holiday with their families. Clinics and other affected services will reopen for normal hours Tuesday, September 8.

The hospital and emergency services will remain available throughout the holiday.

“Labor Day is really about people and the value of the work they do,” Beaman said. “We are grateful for our FCHS team, for those who support our organization and for everyone whose work helps make our communities better places to live.”
